XACTIMATE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

If you are a professional working in the insurance claims adjusting, building repair or remediation industries, you understand how important it is to have an accurate repair estimate.That’s why Xactware created the Xactimate user certification tests—to help ensure that those who use Xactimate are proficient and have the skills they need to accurately create an estimate.

If your goal is to become a Xactimate-certified user, passing the Xactware user certification tests place you in an elite group of Xactware users.As a certified Xactimate user, you will:

  • Be among those considered the best in the industry.
  • Prove to an employer that you have a firm foundation in Xactimate fundamentals and can accurately write an estimate from start to finish.
  • Have name listed in the Xactware User Certification Directory, helping you market your credentials and expand your business.
  • Receive certificate based on the level of certification completed that proves you successfully met the standards and qualifications Xactware has set to become certified.

XACTIMATE 28 CERTIFICATION LEVELS:Certification process is handled directly by Xactware

Level 1 Certification Exam – Xactimate Fundamentals
This Level 1 Certification Exam verifies that the user has the foundational skills required to create anestimate from start to finish using Xactimate 28.

The Level 1 Certification Exam is broken into three different sections. The three sections are as follows:1. Sketch and Scope Lab: In this hands-on lab, individuals are required to use their own locally installed Xactimate (or online version) to create an estimate. The most recent version of Xactimate 28 is required. The estimate consists of a Sketch and scope scenario that must be completed accurately. The estimate will be used to answer the questions found in the Practical Exam section. The Sketch and Scope labs are not timed, and individuals may exit and return to the lab as needed prior to beginning the Practical Exam and Knowledge Exam. The approximate time required to complete this section is 60–120 minutes.

2. Practical Exam: In this section of the exam, individuals are asked 30 questions pertaining to the estimate created in the Sketch and Scope labs. Questions are specific to the scope, quantities, dimensions, and pricing from the estimate. This section of the exam is timed. Closing the Practical Exam prior to completion will result in an automatic FAIL. The approximate time required to complete this section is 30–90 minutes.

3. Knowledge Exam: This portion of the exam consists of 30 multiple-choice, true/false, and matching questions. Questions are related to the learning objectives listed below in the Knowledge Requirements section of this document. This section of the exam is timed. Closing the Knowledge Exam prior to completion will result in an automatic FAIL. The approximate time required to complete this section is 30–90 minutes.Passing grade is 70%. The time limit for the Practical Exam and Knowledge Exam is 180 minutes. Results with associated learning objectives will be available for review immediately upon completing the exam.


Level 2 Certification Exam – Xactimate Proficiency (Power User)
This Level 2 Certification Exam verifies that the user has mastered foundational Xactimate 28 conceptsand can use more intermediate Xactimate practices to increase efficiency, productivity and accuracy.

The Level 2 Certification Exam is broken into three different sections. The three sections are as follow:1. Sketch and Scope Lab: In this hands-on lab, individuals are required to use their own locally installed Xactimate (or online version) to create an estimate. The most recent version of Xactimate 28 is required. The estimate consists of a Sketch and scope scenario that must be completed accurately. The estimate will be used to answer the questions found in the Practical Exam section. The Sketch and Scope Lab is not timed, and individuals may exit and return to the lab as needed prior to beginning the Practical Exam and Knowledge Exam. The approximate time required to complete this section is 90 – 180 minutes.
2. Practical Exam: In this section of the exam, individuals are asked 35 questions pertaining to the estimate created in the Sketch and Scope Lab. Questions are specific to the scope, quantities, dimensions, and pricing from the estimate. This section of the exam is timed. Closing the Practical Exam prior to completion will result in an automatic FAIL. The approximate time required to complete this section is 30 – 90 minutes.
3. Knowledge Exam: This portion of the exam consists of 35 multiple-choice, true/false, and matching questions. Questions are related to the learning objectives listed below in the Knowledge Requirements section of this document. This section of the exam is timed. Closing the Knowledge Exam prior to completion will result in an automatic FAIL. The approximate time required to complete this section is 30 – 90 minutes.Passing grade is 70%. The time limit for the Practical Exam and Knowledge Exam is 180 minutes. Results with associated learning objectives will be available immediately for review upon completing the exam.


Level 3 Certification Exam – Xactimate Mastery (Subject Matter Expert)
This Level 3 Certification Exam verifies that the user has full mastery of the Xactimate 28 estimating system and can be considered a Xactimate 28 subject matter expert.

The Level 3 Certification Exam is broken into three different sections. The three sections are as follow:1. Sketch and Scope Lab: In this hands-on lab, individuals are required to use their own locally installed Xactimate (or online version) to create an estimate. The most recent version of Xactimate 28 is required. The estimate consists of a Sketch and scope scenario that must be completed accurately. The estimate will be used to answer the questions found in the Practical Exam section. The Sketch and Scope Lab is not timed, and individuals may exit and return to the lab as needed prior to beginning the Practical Exam and Knowledge Exam. The approximate time required to complete this section is 120 – 240 minutes.

2. Practical Exam: In this section of the exam, individuals are asked 40 questions pertaining to the estimate created in the Sketch and Scope Lab. Questions are specific to the scope, quantities, dimensions, and pricing from the estimate. This section of the exam is timed. Closing the Practical Exam prior to completion will result in an automatic FAIL. The approximate time required to complete this section is 30 – 90 minutes.

3. Knowledge Exam: This portion of the exam consists of 40 multiple-choice, true/false, and matching questions. Questions are related to the learning objectives listed below in the Knowledge Requirements section of this document. This section of the exam is timed. Closing the Knowledge Exam prior to completion will result in an automatic FAIL. The approximate time required to complete this section is 30 – 90 minutes.Passing grade is 70%. The time limit for the Practical Exam and Knowledge Exam is 240 minutes. Results with associated learning objectives will be available immediately for review upon completing the exam.
